Living Root Bridge: A living root bridge rests in Riwai village, a distance of 3 km from Mawlynnong Bus Stop. Riwai village houses this natural root bridge that is unfortunately not a well-known or popular tourist destination but is fascinating for visitors to the area. It’s amongst natural attractions in Meghalaya and among the must-visit places in Mawlynnong. This single decker bridge, now identified as Jingmaham Living Root Bridge, lies across the flow of a creek in the village of Riwai. With an astounding 300 years history, this man-made bridge was fabricated from twining the aerial roots of rubber trees around the core of a Betel tree. The roots keep stretching out and the trunk and the boulder are all glued together by this fine thread that takes anywhere from 10-15 years of slow and steady motion to finally reach the decided goal. The base keeps getting wide and strong and over this it is laid the ancient stones, sticks, leaves, bamboo and such purposeful treasures are thrown over the times. That is their outlet to the other side of the river without getting down.

Sky Walk: About 2 km ahead of Mawlynnong Bus Stop, Sky Walk is an observatory in the town of Mawlynnong of Meghalaya’s East Khasi Hills District. Popularly called Nohwet Viewpoint, it is one of the first places to be visited in Mawlynnong and one of the best locations that will help you in experiencing the whole Meghalayan Tourism. Sky Walk is a 85 feet tall tree climber made of 100 % bamboo poles intertwined with the stout twigs of six trees by tying the branches with jute and bamboo ropes. No nails or any metallic item whatsoever shall be required for the workshop of assembly. The tourists have to use the climbing four ladders made of bamboo attached each other by fleeting across the trees for reaching the top. In the top, there is a square ground where one can get the figures and the beauty of the valley of Mawlynnong village as well as Bangladesh Plains. After its completion by a school teacher from the village who is also a very famous artist, Mawlynnong has now become a very popular spot.

Church of Epiphany: At a distance of 500 m from Mawlynnong Bus Stop, Church of Epiphany is about 100 years old church located in East Khasi Hills, Meghalaya. It is one of the must see tourist places in Mawlynnong. Church of Epiphany is the only church inside Mawlynnong village built in 1902 by Welsh Christian Missionaries. According to the legend, Welsh Christian missionaries came to this village in the 19th century from Bangladesh and since then, the village has been following a strong tradition of Christianity. Interestingly, the residents of Mawlynnong link the tradition of cleanliness to Christianity. They said that the missionaries changed their lives and taught the ways to reach God through cleanliness. Encircled by narrow stone paths with plants bearing orange flowers reach out to the Church.

Balancing Rock: Balancing Rock of Mawlynnong is at the distance of 1 km from Mawlynnong Bus Stop. This is a natural monolith rock situated along outer edge of Mawlynnong Village, Mawlynnong of East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya. Maw Maw is a preferable name for it and the local knows it by the name. It is among one of the most visited places in Meghalaya which is a crucial natural attraction in Mawlynnong. The Balancing Rock, which is, in fact, huge boulder stands on another small rock, creates the angle with which the boulder stands. Whether it is about the Construction of the statue at Sentinel Elephant or at the foot of Wayanad Hill, its mystifying remains the same. Enclosed within the boundaries of a barbed-wire fence, this erection of wood, slates, concrete, and lime has never been perturbed ever. Rymben Falls: Where Dawki is on 15 kilometers away and Mawlynnong on 26 kilometers away, Rymben Falls is a glorious natural water fall around the village of Lapalang in East Khasi Hill district in the state of Meghalaya. Along with this it is one of the exquisite waterfalls in Meghalaya and among one of the different best places to experience Mawlynnong Tourism. Moreover, this waterfall is the largest fall in the vicinity, the Rymben fall, that was created over Rymben River. It is not very much popular with the tourists as it is tucked away in the thick forests of the East Khasi Hills, which are not very easy to access for the outsiders. But, its waters and the area around are so serene and peaceful. Otherwise, there you can find many kinds of forests, mountains, sea, rivers, lakes and other landscapes and plant, which means you can experience many recreational activities. When it rains the Kapton Falls truly mesmerizes. However, do not risk offending nature for a mere photograph. Barely visible through the thick woods, you must also allow for an approximate 30-minute walk from Lapalang village to the falls. Lapalang place could be waxi from taxi either from Shillong or from Dawki.
